Even though sports professionals and hardcore running enthusiasts tend to get free trainers in the royal mail as a sponsorship item or paid promotion, it is striking how loyal an athlete can be to particular makes and models of running trainers.
After all the old adage goes: ‘There are two things in life that you should never ever skimp on! One is your bed, and the other is a decent set of shoes because you spend half your life in one, and half your life in the other! Being the ultimate accessory (besides the bed) in any serious athletes life it is no wonder that they take a lot of pride in caring for their feet, pick a trainer and stick with it!
As previously stated, the majority of athletes choose a tested brand and stick with it. Today I was following a forum discussion that supported this statement. it was centered on various models of new balance trainers. It’s amazing how the brand began life with the blandest of running shoe but in no time has developed its product range into a market leader. new Balance thrives on their reputation as a great manufacturer of extremely comfortable performance running trainers. In this particular forum, I discovered avid users of new balance trainers that have continued to buy this brand of running shoes for many years. The community compared models of new balance trainers from the 765, 766 to the 767 which has a wide appeal but is limited in stock. Many running athletes seem to ask if any of the newer new Balance trainer models are akin to the 767. it is suggested that this demand is purely due to the comfort and durability of this particular trainer model and as stocks are running out multiple sets of trainers are bought by the same consumer at the same time.
The buzz going around in the forum suggest this:
“I have two pairs of 767s i have also got on well with 857s which are also a stability trainer. Designed for high mileage very durable. The 767s are a bit nippier though.”

As the latter quote suggests the new Balance 767’s have been replaced by the 768s, and it is evident through the buzz in the forums that the demand for the outdated 767’s has gone through the roof. Sports enthusiasts continue to scour the UK shops and factory outlets to get their hands on the new Balance 767s from the limited amount of suppliers left, multi buying along the way. new Balance should consider the popularity of this running shoe and develop this particular model further.
